We live our lives daily connecting with souls who God specially placed in our lives. Do we ever pause to find or seek the reason behind the interactions?
In this walk of mine, I've learned that it doesn't matter how long you've known a person for someone to deeply effect you. Time means nothing to God, for He is the creator of time. 100 years on Earth could be only a day in Heaven. I write all of this to say that people can slide in and out your life leaving hidden blessings that your eyes are too distracted to see. Distracted. How are we distracted? We have daily routines and weekly schedules that we follow, and when we interact with people even for a short time, we could miss the purpose behind the interaction if our mind isn't on Kingdom. I've learned that God can send people to only be in your life for a quick season and bless you tremendously. I was recently at the hair salon under the dryer when this sweet little girl came and sat next to me. We introduced ourselves to each other and began talking. I started the conversation because her mom was in the chair getting flat ironed, so I wanted to keep her entertained. I had no idea that this little girl would be my angel of the day. We talked for what seemed like such a short time when her mom called her to get her things ready to leave. When she was making her way to the door, she told me, "I want to be just like you when I grow up." I became speechless. Did I really make that much of an impact on that little girl in only 20 minutes? She surely made an impact on me, and if my mind wasn't on God, then I would've missed the blessing; the blessing that inspired this blog entry. Since the interaction with the little girl, I've been searching the word trying to piece together this blog entry, and then God gave me the perfect example. Simon, who later became Peter in the bible is a great example of being blessed by association. Peter was one of Jesus' first disciples. Peter was special because he was one of the first to follow Jesus without influence from anyone else. Peter and his brother Andrew, who were "fishermen", were out fishing when Jesus approached them and said,1“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.” (Matthew 14:19) Jesus was telling Peter and Andrew to fish to serve God's people and not just for themselves. This small interaction became one of the bible's huge milestones: Jesus' first disciples were called. Every single disciple that Jesus came in contact with was blessed by knowing him; physically knowing and seeing him. They watched the crucifixion, while we can only imagine it, but that it what makes us special as well. When Jesus visited the disciples for the very last time, Jesus told them, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." (John 20:29) As we accept Jesus into our lives and follow him, then we are blessed by His presence. We are saved; we are promised eternal life. We walk this earth without the presence of fear because we know in our hearts that Jesus washed our fears away. Being associated with Jesus means embracing a new mind; a renewed mind. One that understands Kingdom mindset. A wise man once told me that only God can understand God. What does that mean? It means that we must have a mindset like God; like the Kingdom of Heaven to truly understand Him. When He speaks to us, how will we know what He is saying unless our minds are on spirit? This is where distractions come in. If we lose a spiritual mindset of thinking for one moment, then we can miss a blessing that God sent to us by simply not being open to receive it. That is why it is important to walk with a spiritual mindset at all times, never falling victim to the flesh. God can't physically come up and talk to you, but He can spiritually. Being associated with Jesus is the best gift. The disciples only experienced Jesus in manly form for only a short time, and He definitely left huge marks on their hearts and lives. But that's the thing about Jesus... God may place different people in your life every day to bless you, and then you may never see them again, but God sent His one and only son to bless you eternally, walking with you forever if only you believe. Jesus will be in your life forever, and all you have to do is acknowledge Him. He too, is a hidden blessing that your heart must be changed or renewed to find Him; to see him for who He truly is. It doesn't matter how long you've known Jesus to be saved. People get saved on their death bed every day, which proves that time means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to God. Time you've known someone doesn't matter how much they can deeply affect you. So think about that next time you chat with someone over the phone, over some coffee, or even just in the street. God sends blessing everywhere- seen and unseen. To see the unseen, we must see God and shake the shackles off of our eyes. I mean, think about it, our Faith lies in the unseen. We have not PHYSICALLY seen Jesus, but we have SPIRITUALLY seen Him. And that is what also makes us special. For those of us who have followed Jesus, we have found Him deep inside our hearts. We know when He is in the midst. We've seen him influence our lives in such purity. We as humans can hide our hidden blessings and not even realize it. It can be covered by fear, doubt, and many other selfish things. But once we finally remove the fear and the doubt, then God will reveal our hidden blessings. It's all about the heart you have and the mind you embrace. It's all about trusting God. Take notice: God won't reveal something to you unless you're ready. Being ready in the eyes of God means beginning a relationship so close with Christ that His words are lived through you. Your mind is on Kingdom and you understand the full power of the Lord. Now, also take notice that we are human, and we fall victim to our flesh at times, but we shall never stay victimized. Realize where you fell and get back up immediately so you won't miss another message from God. God is all around us. He can use any willing soul as a vessel for His glory. Do not be afraid if a stranger comes to you and delivers a message from God; God chooses His vessels from his soul ties and who he is in connection with, but do not be dismayed. If your mind is on Kingdom, then you too will recognize Kingdom in the man who delivers and you will come upon understanding way beyond belief... and it shall not contradict. You may cannot see God, but you see God. He's all around, sending messages through His strongest vessels. If you meditate whole-heartedly without holding anything back, you can hear His thoughts because they will be yours. We our blessed by being associated with God because He promises us life after death. He also promises us a fresh start by just accepting who His is. ALSO, We're blessed by association with the bible. The bible is the closest physical thing we have to God. We're blessed by His words and actions that are written to be a guide for us in this life. Reading and meditating on the bible helps us to be associated with God by truly interacting with Him. God presents many trails of His existence throughout the world. All we have to do is stop and take notice. Stop being in a rush. You'll miss the greatest blessings trying to speed through life. God gave you a life to enjoy. He gave you a life to learn about Him; to be an image of Him. He is the reason behind our joy; He is the joy behind the stride in our steps; He inspires our heart to beat, and for that we are blessed by being associated with and believing in His unconditional love. Let us rejoice in the presence of the Lord; the greatest blessing of all. |
