When I worship God, I open my heart to release all of my struggles and let in all of His grace. I lose focus on all of the crazy things around me and I focus on the energy of Christ.
I believe that your altar is wherever you are, but like others, I do have a designated place where I go and feel closest to him. That place is sitting on the patio facing my backyard. Behind my house I see the energy of God being released through the sky. I have a front seat view of God's paintings for the day. I look to the sky because the sky never stays in one place... the sky changes, and that reminds me how in life things change and I have to accept it. Not everything is going to stay the same. For example, I must continue to grow in my walk. As we grow spiritually, we change... right? We learn each day more and more about God. That's change from what we knew yesterday, right? Also, situations change, and we must continue to trust God in the midst of the change. When I look to the sky, I see God. I know that I am a reflection of God, so when I look at the sky I see me. Sit back and reflect on that for a minute... If you are ever questioning how unique or special you are, look at the sky. The same God who created that amazing sky, created you. I feel closest to God when I look at nature... when I look at His personal work. God has never created anything ugly. He shows proof by the way the leaves changes into beautiful colors in fall, or by the way the flowers bloom in spring. When He picks up the brush, He never makes any mistakes. So when I get alone and look at the sky, nothing can distract me from His presence. Every day is a new painting, just like every day is a new adventure. And through the pain, the tears, and the changes, it's still beautiful.
